Butea monosperma also known as parrot tree, flame-of-the-forest and bastard teak. Native to tropical and subtropical part of the Indian subcontinent and southeast Asia. In West Bengal, it is associated with spring, especially through the poems and songs of Rabindranath Tagore. He likened it's bright orange flame-like flower to fire.
